Jonathan’s Questions:

Are you a proud resident of the province or state you’re living in? If not what do you think should change to make it a better place?

I am and I’m not…you see Ontario is a great province in general but the government sucks…So I’m proud of the nature of Ontario but no proud of the people running it.

Do you have a Favorite pet?

Yes I do! I have an adorable puppy named Twix and she is the love of my life! (Like not actually but I do love her) I’ll show ya’ll a picture.

What are your favorite outdoor and indoor winter activities?

Outdoor would probably be skating or “skiing” (I say “skiing” because the hill isn’t large like what you might think of…it’s big but not BIG.) Indoor would be reading. (Huge book nerd here. Anyone else?)

Is there one event in your life that has changed you since?

That is a hard question. I would say that the one that is changing my life is the death of my grandpa.

Do you have a favorite Bible verse and how has it impacted your life?

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

This has really impacted my life with the death of my grandpa because it reminds me not to use my knowledge of why he died but to trust in God. Also cool story. The day we got the news that grandpa was going to die, dad has us cleaning the house because what better way to take your mind off of grief than work? Well I was really down in the dumps, because, I mean my grandpa was going to die. I took some stuff up to my room and what way laying on the floor but one of my magnetic bookmarks with the words “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” It was really cool and helped calm me.

Favorite book of the Bible?

Revelations. It is just such a great book! I also love Song of Solomon (don’t judge me but it is SUPER interesting!)

Which food is better in your opinion: hamburgers or hot dogs?

Hamburgers, though hotdogs are super good.

What is the purpose of your blog?

Well, for one it is to help me write more and thus get better at writing. It is also so that I gain social views so that if I ever publish a book it won’t be as hard to get the news out there. I also want it to be somewhere where people can go to learn something or just enjoy reading and looking at my posts.

When did you start your blog?

I started it in September of 2021

Do you prefer the country or city in December for going on a drive?

It really depends…the country is just so peaceful but the city has great lights.

Favorite character in your favorite book?

That’s hard because I have many favourite books and characters. So probably Jack or Ella from A Midnight Dance or Kestra or Simon from The Traitor’s Game.

That was a lot of fun to answer Jonathan!

As an adult, I feel the same way about my state as you do about Ontario.

I’m going to answer your questions in character. It is January 1997.

Are you a mom’s kid or dad’s kid?
Mom’s kid. My dad worked nights for most of my childhood, so we were never close, plus he grew up with a single mom and was never close to his father, so he doesn’t really know how to be a father.

    What is your favourite book?
I have a few. I’m supposed to say the Bible, probably. As for stuff I’ve read over the last few years, I really liked Needful Things by Stephen King… fascinating how the different pieces of that story work together, but a bit dark, of course, because it’s Stephen King.

    What is your dream pet?
Something that will feed and clean up after itself.

    What are your 2022 goals?
2022? I can’t look forward in time. But my 1997 goals are to continue to get good grades and figure out my plans for after I graduate.

    Why do you blog?
    It’s 1997. What’s a blog?

    Favourite music genre?
Either classic rock or what they call “alternative rock” but it isn’t really alternative anymore.

    Favourite book genre?
Good question. I tend to read suspenseful stuff, but within a variety of subgenres.

    Hawaiian pizza, yes or no?

    Favourite memory?
    Part 1:
    Part 2:

    Are you introverted or extroverted?

Do you like traveling? Why or why not?
    Yes. New places fascinate me.

1997 was such an interesting and unique time to be a university student, with the Internet just emerging as a mainstream technology (and still a lot of fun) but not yet having taken over every aspect of life.
